Feeling stressed, overwhelmed and anxious? Our world today is moving faster than ever and keeping up seems overwhelming to many as things just keep piling up and piling up.
We all lead busy lives and sometimes our stress and anxiety is overwhelming and very draining of our energy.
The science of forest bathing has shown remarkable positive benefits that have been measured.
From 2004 until 2012 the Japanese government has spent over 4 million dollars in studying the psychological and physiological benefits of being in the forest. Dr. Qui Li, Japanese professor at Nippon Medical School has shown how small exposure to the forest has health benefits for our immune system that last over a month.
Scientists have identified Phytoncides, which are the anti-microbial compounds that protect the trees and have human health benefits too. These benefits include: reducing blood pressure, boosting immunity, boosting mood, improving sleep and creativity and even reducing depression and cancer.
It takes only a few deep breathes to leverage the power of the rainforest for our better health.
If I don't have time to be in the forest, what can I do?
